Here’s an Idea!
One of our favorite multi day options is using Over the Top Adventures’ Side by Side to access Blue Jay Lake Recreation Site. You can attempt the forestry road yourself, however it is extremely steep, rough and VERY difficult driving. I refuse to take my own vehicle there – Not to mention that a 5 person off road side by side trip is just plain FUN!
Over the Top Adventures offers shuttle options for folks looking to get back up the forestry roads to the Recreation Sites and Trails – a transport shuttle trip one way cost is $340. This is a great option to get back to some truly remote, amazing places and pack along some adventure gear at the same time
We recommend bringing along Stand-up Paddle Boards, Canoes, Mountain Bikes, E-bikes, and Camping Equipment!
Here is our suggested itinerary with some cost estimates:

Day 1: Outfit yourself with the required equipment onsite at Glacier Creek Outfitting. Spend the evening with us – We will give you a beer on the deck (or an iced tea!) and we’ll go over the maps and things to do on your trip as well size up, and outfit your equipment (Bikes, Paddle Boards, and Camping/Hiking Equipment)
Trip logistics, booking with local outfitters, Trip outfitting – $100
Stand-up Paddle Board Adventure Package $49 per day – Includes Paddle Board, Paddle, Life Jacket and Leash
Bike Adventure Package $35 per day – includes bike, bike, helmet, repair kit and spare tube
Personal Camping Equipment Adventure Package – (Sleeping bags, sleeping pads, backpacks, headlamps, bug nets, eating utensils etc,) – $55 per person per day
Group Camping Equipment Adventure Package – (Tents, stove, kitchen pots, kitchen bug tent, first aid Kit, Bear Spray etc ) – $65 per day
Afternoon Day 2: Shuttle Trip up to Blue Jay Lake Recreation Area one way shuttle $340
Evening of Day 2: Set up camp and cook yourself dinner and then head out and explore the old boardwalk to Grey Jay Lake and the lookout
Day 3: Day hike in to Mgurr Lake and through the stunning alpine at the pass. Follow this up with some evening swimming and camping.
Day 4 Morning and Afternoon: Paddle board, fish and swim in Blue Jay Lake or take a morning stroll to the waterfall on the Big Cedar Tree Trail.
Day 4 Late Afternoon: Pack up camp and take the Over the Top Adventures shuttle back to Bella Coola. Remember to take turns riding the mountain bikes out!
